REED FAMILY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
APPLICATION
The Greece Baptist Church Reed Family Memorial Scholarship Fund, was established in 1977 by Joseph Reed and his family and friends, in loving memory of his son, Donald J. Reed. Mr. Reed, a very devoted and loved high school chemistry teacher in the city of Rochester for 32 years, felt it fitting to begin a living memorial to his son in a way that would encourage, and hopefully, help young people at Greece Baptist Church and in the community, pursue their formal education after high school. In addition to Donald Reed, the memorials of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Reed have been contributed to the scholarship fund.
The Greece Baptist Church Reed Family Memorial Scholarship will award a $1,000 scholarship to a member of the Greece Baptist Church or to a Town of Greece resident, regardless of church affiliation.
Selection of scholarship recipients will be made by the Memorial Scholarship Committee established under the auspices of the Diaconate of Greece Baptist Church. The Committee may decide to award all, some or none of the scholarship funds. Scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors based on the content of application materials and, if necessary, personal interviews.
Application must be made by March 30, 2018. Scholarships will be announced in June. Announcement of the scholarships will be made through the Church Builder and local media.
