Application The American Chemical Society (ACS) Summer School on Green Chemistry & Sustainable Energy is open to graduate students and postdoctoral scholars studying in the United States, Canada, and Latin America. Most applicants are studying for or have earned advanced degrees in chemistry or chemical engineering, but applicants from other fields will also be considered.
The program is sponsored by the ACS, ACS Petroleum Research Fund, and ACS Green Chemistry Institute. Coach-class airfare, ground transportation, shared on-campus housing, meals, and all program costs are provided to students. International attendees will be reimbursed for the costs of their visas, if needed.
The program runs from check-in on the Colorado School of Mines (CSM) campus on Tuesday, June 21 to the closing program on the evening of Monday, June 27. Check out will be on the morning of Tuesday, June 28. Participants must be able to attend the program in its entirety.
The 2016 conference schedule is not yet available. The 2015 schedule is available on the program website (www.acs.org/gcsummerschool). The 2016 program will be similarly structured.
Completed application materials must be received by the ACS no later than January 29, 2016. Microsoft Word and PDF file formats are appreciated. An application package consists of:
A letter of nomination from your faculty advisor or another faculty member
A one-page essay addressing your interest in green chemistry and sustainable energy. The essay should describe any relevant experience you have, as well as how you will benefit from the program.
