Poetry’s Purpose - There are several features of poetry that make it unique from other forms of writing. These are:

- Written in lines and stanzas
- Uses sound devices (rhyme, alliteration, onomatopoeia, etc…)
- Takes poetic license with space, punctuation, grammar, etc…
