On the occasion of 70th year of the nation’s independence,celebration of ‘Azaadi- 70 YaadKaroKurbaani’ from 09-08-2016 to 23-08-2016 was held to commemorate the freedom struggle, the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters and the countless unsung heroes.

Various competitions were organised at the school level, in which the students from classes I-XII actively participated.All the competitions were organised as per the instructions received from the Regional Office, Mumbai.

On 09-08-2016, students of classes I-XII enthusiastically participated in making greeting cards for Jawans, who are posted all over India and are keeping our nation safe and secure. To honour the sacrifices made by these jawans and to express their gratitude,students designed more than 100 greeting cards, which were posted to the nearest APO, from where the greeting cards were delivered to the bravehearts.

On 10-08-2016, the students of secondary and senior secondary classes participated in slogan writing competition based on the topic- Azadi -70 yaadkarokurbaani.

On 11-08-2016, a painting competition was held for the students of secondary and senior secondary classes.Students actively participated in the competition. They expressed their pride of being an Indian through their colourful imagination and creativity .

On 12-08-2016, an essay writing competition was held where the students of classes VI-XII, expressed their views through the essays written by them.

The details of the programmes conducted and the names of the winners were sent to KV,BEG,PUNE on 13-08-2016.

In continuation of the celebrationRetd. Captain UmakantKulkarniwas invited in the vidyalaya. Principal Mr.R.S.Inglefelicitated and honoured captain Kulkarni for his dedicated service to the nation. The guest of the day addressed the students and expressed his happiness in being with them. He quoted motivating incidents from his life and career and encouraged the students to join the Armed Forces. He offered free guidance to the students who are aspiring to join NDA after finishing their school.

With this programme the celebration came to an end.



(22nd August- 27 August 2016)

To encourage and motivate children to improve their communicative and linguistic skills in English, Hindi and Sanskrit, Language Week was celebrated in KV ,C.RLY,Solapur from (22nd August- 27 August 2016).

Various programmes were conducted in all the three languages. The celebration started with poem recitation competition in Hindi and Elocution in English. Students from all the four houses in both the groups- vi-viii & ix-xii participated in the competition.

These competitions were followed by story telling competition in both English and Hindi languages.The competitions were both held on 24.08.2016. students actively participated in the competition.

On 25.08.2016, essay writing competition was conducted .students wrote essays in both English and Hindi. Students from vi-viii were given separate topics for English and Hindi languages and ix-xii were given different topics,which are given below

Hindi – vi-viii – Rajbhasha Hindi kamahatva

ix-xii – Hindi keprachaarprasaarmein media kayogdaan

English vi-viii- The limits of my language are the limits of my world.

ix- xii – The language we use, influences the way we think.

On 26.08.2016 group song competition was held in which the students of both the groups vi-viii & ix-xii presented songs in all the three languages i.e. English,Hindi and Sanskrit.

On 27.08.2016 a quiz competition was organised where the students answered the questions from all the thre languages- Hindi, English & Sanskrit. The participants, as well as the audience enjoyed the programme a lot.

All these competitions were followed by the prize distribution ceremony, where the winners of the different competitions were given away prizes and certificates, to appreciate their enthusiastic participation. With this the week long celebrations came to an end.
