English Mr. Riden Person You Admire Essay Instructions for writing the introductory paragraph of your rough draft: The last sentence of your introductory paragraph must be your thesis statement. Your introductory paragraph must contain 2-3 sentences discussing and describing background details about the person you admire. These details should tell who he/she is, what your relationship to him/her is or how you know them, and basic details and/or facts about them and what they do. Your introductory paragraph must contain at least 1 sentence expressing a personal insight, feeling, or observation about the person you admire. I repeat—the last sentence of your introductory paragraph must be your thesis statement. Have your introductory paragraph written and ready to turn in on Monday. Instructions for writing the first body paragraph of your rough draft: The first sentence of your first body paragraph must be a topic sentence focusing on one particular aspect of the person you admire. In this body paragraph, you must introduce and describe one of the anecdotes pertaining to the person you admire, which shows or illustrates why you admire or respect that person. This anecdote must be 5 to 6 sentences in length and may include your personal insights in witnessing or hearing about this story and how it made you or others feel. You must finish this body paragraph with a concluding sentence that sums up your anecdote, how it made you admire that person (this will be another personal insight in nature). In other words, this body paragraph will be 7 to 8 sentences in total length. Instructions for writing the second body paragraph of your rough draft: The first sentence of your second body paragraph must be a topic sentence focusing on one particular aspect of the person you admire. In this body paragraph, you must introduce and describe one of the anecdotes pertaining to the person you admire, which shows or illustrates why you admire or respect that person. You must finish this body paragraph with a concluding sentence that sums up your anecdote, how it made you admire that person (this will be another personal insight in nature). Instructions for writing the conclusion paragraph of your rough draft: Your conclusion paragraph must contain 3 to 4 sentences, summing up why you admire this person and how they have influenced your life. Your conclusion paragraph will be basically all personal insight in nature.
