Subject: National Level Essay Competition Sponsored by The Reserve Bank of India.
It is to inform you that the RBI has taken initiative to create awareness about financial literacy and policy matters and promote/ spread the knowledge of the same among young citizens of the country. For this, “The RBI Policy Challenge”a national level competition is organized by the RBI. At our University level RBI Unit, Faculty of Commerce is coordinating the activity so individual student or a group of students studying any program in any faculty are eligible to submit their essay(s) written as per guidelines to the Clerk Mr Rafikbhai, RBI Unit, Faculty of Commerce on or before 31th January 2016. After screening the Essays of participating students, the best one will be submitted to the RBI for further rounds of competition. National level winners will be rewarded handsomely by trophy, replica and cash award. Guidelines and other details of competition are given below:
Three tier competitions would test essay writing, problem solving and presentation skills of the contestant as per the following methodology:
Regional Round: This would involve essay writing on a given topic by students of 3 or 4. Team writing best essay, as judged by the experts, would go to the zonal round.
Zonal Round: (At CAB Pune on March 9, 2016)-A real life problem based on a monetary /economic issue would be given to all teams in advance and they will be expected to make a presentation of 15 minutes on their approach to deal with the problem before a panel of experts. Best team (winner) will go the final National round.
National Round: ( At RBI Central office Mumbai in the last week of March 2016)-A monetary policy related topic would be assigned to all teams in the forenoon and they will be have to make 15 minutes presentation in the afternoon before a select panel headed by the Governor of RBI. Best team will be declared winner.
Guidelines of Essay:
Topic of Essay: Demographic Profile of India: Opportunity or Threat?
Language: Hindi or English.
Length of Essay: Maximum 2000 words, (12 size font in Arial, 1.5 line spacing, A4 size paper one sided printed) for hard copy and PDF version for soft copy.)
Assessment criteria: Language and presentation (30 marks), Content and originality (30marks), Quality of recommendations/ suggestions (40 marks)

First Prize : Rs. One lakh in cash and member of team will be offered 3 months internship in RBI in a department of their choice. Other two national finalists team will be given Rs 25,000 in cash.
Second prize: Rs Fifty thousand in cash plus a trophy.
