Mr. Black Sacramento and Jr. Black Sacramento Audition Registration Application
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The purpose of the Mr. Black Sacramento and Jr. Black Sacramento competition is to promote positive images of the Black man. This annual event will allow black men to compete in the areas of modeling, talent and public speaking. This competition will not only fulfill its goal but will also provide its contestants with personal growth and character development opportunities.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:
The idea of Mr. Black Sacramento is born out of the need to portray more positive images of Black males. Our mission is to embrace the value of social responsibility which will allow Mr. Black Sacramento to carry out various initiatives that relate to the future of young Black males.
Some of these initiatives include:
Sojourner Truth Museum Saving Our Boys Project
James West Construction Sankofa African Male Conscious Project
Berry Accius Voice Of The Youth Project
Through volunteering and mentoring, Mr. Black Sacramento will remain committed to charitable and grassroots community initiatives, especially those that serve young African males.

To become a potential contestant you must register for auditions. Auditions will be held April 5th at the UBQ Café located at 431 I St. UBQ Café is inside the Amtrak Parking space next the Starbucks. There is a fee to park inside the Amtrak parking lot. Audition time: 5pm to 9pm.
A total of twenty Mr. Black Sacramento contestants and ten Jr. contestants will be chosen and move on to compete.
Audition Registration fee: $30.00 (checks or money orders should be paid to Sojourner Truth Museum at 2251 Florin Rd, #126. Sacramento, CA 95822
In addition to a registration fee of $30.00, each Jr. Black Sacramento contestant will be required to attach a one-page typed essay discussing the topic below. Essays will be judged on organization, content and development of theme.
