I. Worchester Site Issues & Solution

Site Information & Issues

We have already addressed the main issues in the Springfield site at xACME school in the first proposal. In the second network proposal, the main aim is to address the network issues at the Worchester Site and the Boston site. We will begin by looking at the main challenges at the Worchester site which is the setup of subnet arrangement for the LAN network.

The VLAN setup for the Worchester site has been mentioned in the diagram below. As it can be seen, it has 4 VLANs with a varying number of devices. The Faculty VLAN meant for the instructors only has 19 devices. Next comes the Server VLAN which only contains server devices totaling to 24 in number. It is followed by the Administrative VLAN meant for the 30 devices of the school’s office. Lastly, we have the Instructional VLAN which is the largest and is meant for the 215 devices of students and teacher for lectures in classrooms.

Also, as per the topology provided, the primary IP address at the Worchester site has been given to be 10.20.0.0/16, and the subnetting specifications should consider the same for network setup.
